Nicole reached out to me in the fall to talk about taking upstate new york portrait photos for her birthday! She wanted to recreate a photo that both her mom and grandma had taken at her age to give to her mom as a birthday gift, in addition to capturing moments in her life that felt uniquely her.
When she asked me about this portrait session and whether or not I’d be interested in it, I said “let’s go!”
We first got coffee together at Arthur’s and then walked around Stockade to find cool corners to get different types of photos. Nicole didn’t naturally feel comfortable in front of the camera, so we talked a lot and found ways to make her comfortable and get different angles that felt uniquely her.
I love taking Upstate New York portraits and this session was no exception. Check out some of my favorites:
If you’re looking for more portrait photos, check out a winter portrait session I did at Snyder Lake!
